Circa 1876 quite literally brings the 'farm to fork' ethos to life as guests overlook the organic kitchen garden.

The role and key duties

• Perform a wide range of routine maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work such as building furniture, replacing lightbulbs, and minor repairs;
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations;
• Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities and grounds to identify and address maintenance needs, fill out duty logs and resolve maintenance issues independently or with the assistance of external contractors;
• Ensure all outdoor areas, including walkways, driveways, and parking areas, are clean and well-maintained;
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of outdoor events and activities;
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and hotel policies, using protective gear and equipment as required;
• Maintain a neat, tidy, and safe workshop and work area;
• Assist other departments such as gardening and maintenance as required.

Essential criteria required to be considered

• Proven experience in maintenance and handyman tasks, preferably in a hotel or Hospitality environment;
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, and strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods;
• Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills;
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects;
• Availability and willingness to work a rotating roster of weekdays and weekends;
• Reliable vehicle to commute to and from work.
