About the Role

This fantastic opportunity is for a motivated Solicitor looking to join our high-performing General Insurance practice in our Melbourne office. Ideally, you will be a 2-3 year post qualification lawyer with a keen interest in insurance litigation.

This role will see you working on a wide variety of interesting and high profile public and product liability matters (including both personal injury and property damage) under the supervision and guidance of our Principals. Our specialised expertise lies in effectively managing high-volume and intricate disputes, offering tailored claims management solutions to insurers.

This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to be heavily involved in all aspects of their cases, allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will receive consistent mentoring from Principals and Senior Lawyers and will form part of our wider team which boasts a collegiate, innovative and collaborative culture, making it the perfect environment for you to develop your advocacy skills, strategic-advice work, and practice management skills.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

• A genuine interest in insurance law or litigation
• 2-3 years post admission experience in an Insurance practice, preferably with some personal injury or property damage experience
• Ability to work fast and meticulously with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organisational skill
• Ability to work collaboratively with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy
• A great work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your career
• A hard working and dedicated approach to your practice

Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrates an understanding of the legal issues relevant to the practice of insurance law and a demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the commercial objectives of clients.
• This role requires an eye for technical detail but also the ability to provide legal advice in a commercial context. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly with a high level of attention to detail.
• Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of seniority.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to deal confidently with clients directly and foster client relationships.
• Time management skills and proven ability to prioritise multiple active matters at any one time.
• Capacity to problem solve and think laterally
