Overview

Dubbo, New South Wales — Full-time position: Risk and Emergency Coordinator (People Culture and Safety) at Dubbo Regional Council. You will help shape risk management practices across the organisation, support Local Emergency Management, and contribute to strengthening the community through effective risk control and compliance.

We serve 55,000 residents and welcome 1.65 million visitors annually, with a focus on delivering a sustainable future for the Dubbo region and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Council's Risk Management framework.
  • Conduct and support comprehensive risk assessments across operational areas.
  • Create a uniform approach to Risk Management practices across Council.
  • Manage the review and maintenance of Emergency Management Plans and coordinate emergency response in line with legislation and best practice.
What You\'ll Bring
  • Qualifications in Risk Management, Emergency Management or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated training, knowledge and experience in Emergency and/or Risk Management.
  • Proven experience undertaking thorough risk assessment processes to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Experience conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety management systems and related technology.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in local government across a breadth of business activities.

  • Attractive annual salary range: $88,171 to $102,468.
  • 35-hour work week with adaptable hours and a rostered day off (19 day month).
