Mental Health Clinician – Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Intensive Support Program)

  • Location: Melton – Outer Community Team, Western Health Mental Health & Wellbeing Service
  • Classification: RPN3
  • Employment Type: Part Time (0.8 EFT – 32 hours per week)
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and committed Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN3) to join the Intensive Support Program within our Outer Community Team in Melton. This clinician role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, recovery-focused care to a defined group of consumers living in the community with complex and enduring mental health needs.

Our service operates across the expanding communities of Melton and parts of Brimbank, providing both challenges and opportunities for clinicians to make a meaningful impact. This requires clinicians to deliver person-centred care, including outreach, within a dynamic and rewarding setting.

In this role, you will collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team, focusing on proactive engagement and tailored therapeutic interventions. You will develop strong therapeutic relationships with consumers, supporting them to achieve their recovery goals through flexible, consistent, and responsive care, with outreach being an integral part of the care you provide.

The role requires working within the framework of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and adherence to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practices. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant mental health policies and legislation, ensuring that care provided aligns with best practice standards.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Act as key clinician for a defined caseload of consumers with complex and diverse needs
  • Deliver outreach-based mental health support and clinical interventions in the community
  • Integrate physical health care into everyday practice and support allied health colleagues in this area
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support recovery goal
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and innovation
  • Maintain high-quality, timely clinical documentation

What You'll Bring
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Division 1)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a mental health clinical setting, preferably community-based
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and recovery-oriented care principles
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and other relevant frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal and clinical skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • A commitment to collaborative practice and consumer-centred care
  • Victorian Driver's Licence
