Underground Manager
Join this client team as an Underground Manager, where you will lead and oversee underground mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. Reporting directly to senior management, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational success and fostering collaboration across technical services and mining teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and management of underground mining operations.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize production and achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Services department to establish budgets and operational plans.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities under the West Australian Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
  • Oversee safety protocols and implement continuous improvements to workplace health and safety systems.
  • Monitor operational performance, analyze data, and implement measures to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain strong communication with mine personnel, ensuring alignment with company targets.
  • Drive a culture of safety, innovation, and teamwork within the underground operations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
  • WA Underground First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
  • National Police Clearance
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
Preferred:
  • Extensive experience in underground mining operations.
  • Previous management and statutory leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent reporting abilities.
  • High-level planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Deswik software.
  • Adaptability to evolving industry practices and procedures.
