We're excited to announce a new opportunity for a Tech Lead/ Principal Engineer within our Everyday Banking team. This role is ideal for experienced Principal Engineers that exhibit patterns of behaviour that make them act as technical leaders, who partner with Product Managers and Product Designers to support milestone planning, coordination, sequencing and then help teammates address complexities with their deliverables.

A Tech Lead is an individual contributor with additional responsibilities. The tech lead will split their time around 50/30/20, 50% in individual technical contributions, 30% in technical strategy and discovery, and 20% in coaching.

This is a high-impact role where you'll have 3-5 engineers as direct reports and will be responsible for the performance of those engineers. You will be directly involved in the hiring and performance review processes of those engineers and are responsible for their day to day well-being.

Do work that matters:

Individual contribution, leading improvements in codebase quality.
Providing technical vision and architecture, defining and evolving the overall technical specification for a given project.
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers on the team.
Planning and prioritizing work, organizing the engineering effort by breaking down bigger tasks into smaller actionable items.
Tracking progress on commitments and reporting status updates.
Risk management, identifying, assessing and managing technical risks that may impact deliverables.
Coordination, overseeing the work of others and helping remove blockers.

We're interested in hearing from people who possess the following skills and experience:

Frontend - Next.js, React.js
Backend - .NET Core or Java, C#, ASP.NET, Spring Boot
Expertise with domain-driven design
DevOps and CI/CD - GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Grafana, Prometheus
AWS Cloud experience
Experience with design systems
Any experience with the following would be a great bonus - Machine learning, Blockchain experience
