Position OverviewWithin that group, the Presales team has a position available for a Presales Business Manager. This role is responsible for managing small to large proposals and bids (in accordance with our ANZ proposal management procedures). This includes development of bids, solicited and unsolicited proposals, quotes, pricing, and renewals.
This role has responsibility for coordinating, collating, and completing responses and managing the cross-functional teams which support those responses. It is also within the scope of this role to identify and cost Motorola Solutions and third-party labour.
Job Description- Manage a dynamic workload of simultaneous proposals
- Assess and communicate customer requirements for inclusion in solution and implementation planning
- Create/coordinate customer proposal documents such as: Statement of Work, Bill of Materials, Implementation Plan, Delivery Schedule, Risk Register
- Develop and use standardised documents such as templates and agreements, to the extent possible
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with sales, solutions managers, and internal customers
- Provide regular progress reports and escalate issues as appropriate
- Work closely with Account Manager to determine pricing strategy and collaborate with the pricing team to prepare customer price schedules
- Ensure proper documentation and sign-off from internal approvers, complying with relevant internal guidelines (i.e., EBCR, Apttus)
- Manage proposal schedules and tasks including deadlines, document management, and resource allocation
- Coordinate meetings, actions, and minutes
- Estimate Motorola Solutions and third-party labour and services for quotations, including schedule, work breakdown, resources, risk budget, and third-party providers
- Coordinate internal approvals and reviews
- Ensure all response requirements are met
- Conduct project post-mortem analysis to capture lessons learned for future projects
Education & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline are highly desirable
- Successful applicants will be required to pass a police security clearance
Professional Experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good ICT skills
- Ability to deliver to fixed deadlines
- Bid management experience preferred
- At least 2-3 years of experience in strategy, planning, project coordination, proposal development, or related roles
- Experience in project coordination, proposal management, service management, engineering management, sales, product planning, or enterprise service delivery
Desirable:
- Experience in Radio / Telecommunications / Information Technology / Engineering
- Additional 2-3 years' experience in related roles
