What you'll do:

As a Financial Accountant based in Manly, you will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for managing core accounting functions that underpin the organisation's commitment to operational excellence. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles—ensuring every transaction is processed accurately while upholding compliance with Australian tax laws. You will work collaboratively across departments such as procurement, operations, business development, and commercial teams to optimise payment cycles and billing structures. Your expertise will be crucial during month-end closings as you prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, analyse variances, and contribute to management reporting.   • Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable processes by ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely approvals, payments, and effective three-way matching between purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices.
  • Monitor vendor accounts and manage aging reports to guarantee prompt payments while resolving any disputes or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Ensure full compliance with GST regulations, withholding tax requirements, and internal financial controls through diligent oversight of all AP activities.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement and operations teams to enhance payment cycle efficiency and support seamless business operations.
  • Manage billing and collection processes for Accounts Receivable by ensuring timely invoicing, performing customer account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate AR balances.
  • Drive collection efforts by monitoring AR aging reports, engaging stakeholders to minimise overdue balances, and conducting credit risk assessments for new and existing customers.
  • Optimise billing structures and payment terms through close cooperation with business development and commercial teams to support organisational objectives.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial transactions in line with IFRS and local GAAP by managing month-end and year-end close processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Support preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, management reporting, as well as external and internal audits by providing timely responses to auditor queries.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field demonstrating solid academic grounding in core financial principles.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or progress towards certification) reflecting your commitment to professional standards within the industry.
  • 5 years' experience in finance or accounting roles within multinational corporations or shared services environments showcasing your familiarity with complex organisational structures.
  • Proven background in renewable energy or infrastructure sectors is highly regarded as it demonstrates understanding of industry-specific challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS standards as well as local GAAP requirements ensuring compliance across all reporting activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with other financial reporting tools allowing you to deliver high-quality analyses efficiently.
  • Exceptional analytical skills combined with meticulous attention to detail so you can identify discrepancies quickly while maintaining data integrity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities supported by clear communication skills which enable you to build trust-based relationships across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams; proactive approach towards process improvement initiatives.
