Job Title: Senior Project Engineer - Biochar & Industrial Plant Systems
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering projects in the biochar and industrial plant sectors. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in plant design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation, particularly in greenfield environments.

You will play a key role in driving engineering excellence across multiple project phases—from concept and design through to execution and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, layout, and engineering of biochar production plants and industrial systems.
  • Oversee site surveillance, planning, and installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct design reviews and implement improvements to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
  • Manage commissioning processes and troubleshoot technical issues during startup phases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including construction, operations, and external contractors.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and site teams.
  • Travel to project sites as required to support installation and commissioning activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering roles within the biochar, industrial, or energy sectors.
  • Proven track record in leading end-to-end engineering projects, particularly in greenfield environments.
  • Strong understanding of plant systems, process optimisation, and commissioning protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as needed.
