APA is seeking a technically skilled and forward-thinking Senior Power Performance Engineer to join our Power & Electricity Transmission team in Brisbane, Queensland. Reporting to the Asset Intelligence Manager, you will lead performance analysis, asset optimisation, performance reporting and strategic initiatives across APA's power generation and transmission assets, helping to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient energy delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead performance monitoring and analysis of power generation and transmission systems, including thermal, HVDC and renewable assets.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimise asset performance, reduce losses, and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliver insights that drive asset value, reliability and efficiency.
• Set up performance monitoring reporting engine and lead performance benchmarking.
• Support regulatory reporting, compliance activities, and performance-related submissions.
• Contribute to the development, design and implementation of advanced analytics tools and digital solutions for asset performance and reliability.
  
  

About You

• Extensive experience in thermal power stations, their operations and thermal performance losses.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in performance modelling, data analysis, and optimisation techniques.
• Experience in power asset optimisation and performance improvements through data driven decision making
• Experience in the defining of performance metrics, calculation of performance losses and reporting portfolio power performance.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical and commercial outcomes.
• Strong capability in developing and applying predictive analytics, machine learning and data modelling to improve asset performance and longevity.
