Overview

Drug & Alcohol Clinician role at NSW Health (Permanent Full Time). Locations: Blacktown and Mount Druitt. Join a multi-disciplinary team delivering community drug health and addiction recovery services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based clinical services including intake, assessment, treatment planning, case management, counselling, group work, and health promotion for clients referred to the Centre for Addiction Medicine, Mt Druitt, or other sites within Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).
  • Deliver patient-centered, trauma-informed care following harm reduction principles.
  • Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team to support recovery and health outcomes.
Essential Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Counselling or a related field or an equivalent qualification.
Selection Criteria
  • Bachelor Degree in Counselling or related field, with experience working with drug and alcohol clients.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based interventions for substance use issues and/or comorbid mental health problems.
  • Experience in individual counselling and facilitating group programs based on best practice and evidence-based treatment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for D&A clients.
  • Experience facilitating case management and individual/group counselling for alcohol and other drug-using clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build professional therapeutic relationships.
  • Experience with crisis/risk situations and challenging client behaviours.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to other sites across WSLHD.
Remuneration and Employment Details
  • Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
  • Position Classification: Counsellor Level 1 / Level 2
  • Remuneration: $73,427 - $104,753 per annum
  • Hours Per Week: 38
