As the Speech Pathologist you will deliver quality Speech Pathology for children and families, as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Child Development Service (CDS) across multiple sites of a designated Service Area. You will utilise valid and reliable evidence to optimise the health and wellbeing of children by supporting their participation and engagement in the activities of their everyday life.

About The Team

The Child Development Service teams provide a family-centred, specialist public health service for children who have complex developmental and behavioural concerns. The teams provide multidisciplinary clinical services and consultancy/advice to support a comprehensive understanding of the child\'s developmental profile and how this relates to their functioning and participation in everyday life. Teams use a strengths-based, partnership approach to enable families, key stakeholders and community providers to best support the child\'s optimal development, health and wellbeing across the life course.

About The Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children\'s Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Delivering routine Speech Pathology clinical services within the CDS that are family-focussed and goal-oriented and in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
  • Working collaboratively and effectively within multidisciplinary CDS team/s (including working in partnership with children and families) to achieve best practice outcomes for children with complex developmental difficulties and empower families to understand their child.
