The ABC is looking for an Investigative Reporter to generate original, local, state and national news and current affairs stories and coverage on a wide range of subjects across all ABC platforms to be based in Newcastle.
The Job- Create timely, impactful digital content aligned with ABC policies and audience expectations.
- Generate and investigate complex local and state stories with national significance.
- Produce high-quality content across text, audio, and video platforms, using strong investigative and storytelling skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging stories, and maintain in-depth knowledge of current events.
- Engage with diverse communities to find and tell relevant stories, managing editorial risks and communicating effectively.
You are an experienced Investigative Reporter in broadcast and digital media, known for breaking impactful state and national stories.
You'll Have- Relevant qualifications or experience as an Investigative Reporter in broadcast and digital environments.
- Advanced skills in breaking impactful state and national stories, with strong journalistic and research expertise.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging, complex content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms using innovative storytelling techniques.
- Strong communication, time management, and leadership skills, including mentoring junior staff and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Passion for finding and telling diverse Australian stories, with extensive contacts across the community.
