Overview

Youth Development Worker, Wellbeing and AOD Support, Foyer Oxford at Anglicare WA

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality, comprehensive alcohol and other drug education services to young people accessing the service
  • Deliver quality education and support to young people and the wider foyer team in relation to wellbeing, alcohol and other drug use
  • Build and maintain professional networks in the youth and homelessness support sector
  • Facilitate referrals and coordinate development programs with a focus on harm minimisation and promoting mental health and wellbeing
  • Offer informal counselling and support approaches
Qualifications
  • Diploma level qualification in Human Services, combined with significant skills and experience in youth work, or tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or related behavioural science discipline (must meet current eligibility requirements for full membership with Youth Work WA)
  • Case management and assessment skills
  • Ability to work with young people from a broad range of backgrounds and abilities, including Aboriginal & CaLD backgrounds, and those who identify as LGBTI
  • Up to date knowledge of resources in the youth services field, including alcohol and other drugs, education, training and employment
  • Understanding of youth housing and accommodation systems
  • Strong person-centred, trauma-informed and strength-based practice ethos
Role Details
  • Employment type: Full-time (1.0 FTE) contract
  • Contract ending August 2025
  • Salary starting from $86,950.50 plus 12% super and salary packaging
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (approx. $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
  • Additional 3 days leave per year over festive period
