Our team is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Project Cost Controller, to join our team in our Newcastle office.

About the role

  • Accounts administration and cost control, includes reviewing vendor invoices and contractor timecards, receipting invoices, invoicing clients, tracking payments to vendors and from clients etc.
    • Reportingincludes generating and collating information from various business systems as well as internal and external stakeholders (for routine and ad-hoc reporting).
      • Commercial managementof clients and vendors including managing contracts, purchase orders, change orders, hourly cost and sell rates, task codes etc.
        • Project controlsinclude setting up new projects, baselining budgets, tracking and calculating remaining budget and hours, tracking progress (as required), forecasting and providing financial and project related information to the Directors, Operations Managers and Project Managers.
          • Financial analysis and reporting,includes performance index tracking, investigating causes of aged WIP and fluctuations in project GM, preparing revenue and cash flow forecasts based on actuals and projections, and expediting cost estimates for proposals and change orders.

About you

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people and cultures
  • Flexible and adaptable to change tasks quickly as business priorities vary
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills, including the ability to analyse large data sets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Commercial acumen
  • Degree Qualified in Business (finance/accounting) or Engineering (highly regarded)
  • Experience using Oracle E-Business (highly regarded)
  • Knowledge and experience of Power BI (desirable)
  • Understanding of project management principles or certification (desirable)
