**Job Summary**
The City of Gosnells is seeking an experienced Environmental Officer to develop and implement strategic environmental initiatives and provide technical advice on the protection, rehabilitation and management of the City's natural areas.
This role provides expert environmental advice for City projects involving environmental impact assessments, analysis and interpretation of technical issues within legislative requirements and best environmental management practice.

About the PositionThis position involves providing expert environmental advice for City projects, developing and implementing strategic environmental initiatives, and providing technical advice on the protection, rehabilitation and management of the City's natural areas.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop strategies, management plans and other strategic documents to improve the environmental condition of natural reserves.
- Provide technical advice on environmental impact assessments, analysis and interpretation of technical issues within legislative requirements and best environmental management practice.
- Liaise with consultants and contractors to undertake environmental approval processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to build positive working relationships.
- Undertake other related tasks as required.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A degree in Environmental Management or equivalent.
- Experience in the technical assessment of environmental impact.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret relevant environmental management legislation, policies and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills to produce and review technical documents.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- A driver's licence.
- A White Card.
- A Current Police Clearance (less than three months old).
