Overview

Turtle Down Under, a leading provider of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) event services in Melbourne, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented MICE Costing and Operations Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of diverse MICE events, ensuring seamless operations, cost efficiency, and exceptional client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage comprehensive budgets for MICE events, including venues, logistics, catering, technology, and other service costs.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals aligned with client needs.
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure optimal rates and contractual terms.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue setup, transportation, accommodation, and on-site management.
  • Monitor and control event costs to ensure profitability and adherence to budgets.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and client relations teams to align operational plans with customer expectations.
  • Lead on-site event management and supervise operational staff and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and other regulatory standards during event execution.
  • Maintain excellent vendor and client relationships, fostering trust and repeat business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in MICE event planning, costing, and operations management within Australia or similar markets.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, event management, and budgeting software.
