Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator

REMONDIS Aqua Australia is part of a global leader in sustainable waste and water management. We are expanding our industrial water treatment team and are looking for a skilled and motivated Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join us in Townsville for a great local opportunity.
About the Role
In this full-time role you'll work directly our client's site, operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment infrastructure. This is a stable, technical role with minimal physical work, consistent treatment processes, and the support of modern, well-maintained equipment.
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and adjust the wastewater treatment process, including chemical dosing
- Conduct field testing and prepare samples for NATA-accredited lab analysis
- Complete daily operation and maintenance checklists
- Prepare accurate reports on treatment activities and plant performance
- Identify and troubleshoot process issues to ensure continuous compliance
- Work closely with the client and our multidisciplinary team to ensure operational success

What You'll Bring:
- Previous experience in water or wastewater treatment operations
- Certificate II or III in Water Operations (or similar industry experience)
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with team and client needs
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- A willingness to learn and grow with the business
- Experience across various treatment methodologies is highly regarded
What You'll Need to Apply:
