Join our team as a Leader of Learning & Wellbeing - School Coordinator (Level 1) in a two-year max term contract, with the possibility of extension, with the peace of mind that the successful applicant has a permanent teacher role at the school. There may be some on-class teaching responsibilities in this coordinator role.

Base pay and benefits

A$90,100.00/yr - A$127,281.00/yr base pay range; the range is provided by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and your actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Additional compensation and benefits include:

Responsibilities
  • Lead and collaborate with a team of specialists including teachers, teacher's aides, school therapists, coordinators, administrators and other Aspect staff to deliver our evidence-informed, student-focused autism-specific approach.
  • Use a person-centred and family-focused approach to ensure the delivery of quality educational standards.
  • As a core member of the school's Learning Support Team (LST), lead and supervise the teaching team and partner with parents, carers, and other members of the school community.
  • Be willing to work at satellite classes based at Eastwood, Lane Cove, and St Ives as required.
  • Oversee some or all satellite classes in the coordinator role.
Qualifications
  • Recognised university or tertiary teaching qualifications (as determined by NESA).
  • Registration with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work with Assisted School Transport (ASTP) providers and contractors as needed.
  • Proven ability to manage the daily staffing schedule and process.
  • Proven ability to work with staff and parents and engage in proactive but sometimes difficult conversations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including team support.
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and other areas of need.
  • Experience in developing IPs and curriculum for students on the autism spectrum.
  • NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment.
  • Current driver's licence (per state legislation); Light Rigid (LR) licence is desirable but not required.
  • You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance.
Required Skills

This position is covered by the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025.
