Overview

Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner (Grade 1 or 2) to join our community disability team on an up to permanent, full-time basis, with part-time considered at a minimum of 0.6 FTE. St John of God Accord (Accord) is a values-focused disability service provider in Victoria. We provide a wide range of NDIS services to over 1,000 people with disabilities across Victoria. Offices are in Greensborough and Scoresby. This role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality, person-centred care within a values-driven organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering direct, evidence-based occupational therapy services to individuals or groups, primarily in community settings for NDIS participants.
  • Conducting thorough assessments encompassing Functional Behaviour Assessments, personal care, domestic and community Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), home environments, and physical capacity.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive behaviour support plans, ensuring progression toward people's goals.
  • Coordinating the provision of specialised supports and equipment to optimise outcomes for people.
  • Providing consultation and support as part of a multidisciplinary allied health team.
  • Ensuring all practice adheres to the relevant legislation, Code of Ethics and St John of God Health Care policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Education, or a related discipline. Registrations such as AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW may be required.
  • Eligibility to be registered by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core level minimum).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and person-centred practice.
  • Over 2 years' experience and tertiary level qualifications preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • NDIS Screening Number; Victoria Driver's Licence; current First Aid certificate.
  • Commitment to person-centred care aligned with Mission and Values.
Benefits
  • Salary: $70,866 to $114,129, depending on qualification and experience (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation.
  • Permanent full-time (38 hours per week); part-time considered (minimum 0.6 FTE).
  • 5 weeks' annual leave.
  • Salary packaging up to $18,550 on benefits such as mortgage or rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation and other living expenses, with options to salary package above the FBT cap on items such as novated leasing, work-related expenses, self-education, and additional superannuation.
