Breakthru has been selected by the Department of Social Services to deliver the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program across New South Wales and Queensland. As Team Leader across the Northern Sydney Employment Service Area (ESA), you'll guide and support the team to deliver person-centred support, help clients build confidence, develop skills, and secure meaningful sustainable work. You'll work with employers to strengthen partnerships that create opportunities for inclusive employment. This role focuses on coaching your team to achieve outcomes, driving performance, and making a real difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Working under the guidance of the ESA's Service Manager, mentor and support a high-performing team, driving results and fostering growth.
- Ensure the ongoing development of your team to build a deeper understanding of best practice when working with people with disability, injury, or health conditions.
- Translate program guidelines into high-quality, compliant service delivery that meets quality and performance targets.
- Guide clients into meaningful work through trust, empathy, and personalised support.
- Build strong employer partnerships and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and lead by example.
- Champion Breakthru's values of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred practice.
About You
You're a confident leader with a passion for mentoring others and driving performance. You know how to bring out the best in a team, creating a supportive and results-driven environment where people thrive. With a strong understanding of employment services and program guidelines, you're skilled at mentoring others to provide a high-quality service that meet performance targets. You build genuine relationships with your team, clients and employers alike, guiding individuals into meaningful work through empathy, trust, and tailored support. You're proactive, organised, and lead by example. Most importantly, you're committed to inclusion, empowerment, and making a real difference through person-centred practice.
Essential Criteria
- Qualifications in Employment or Human Services (e.g. Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work) - desirable
- Experience in employment services and supporting people with disability, injury, or health conditions
- Proven ability to meet KPIs and create client-focused employment and skills plans
- Confident in marketing clients to employers and facilitating group programs
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of disability legislation, support strategies, and labour market trends
- Current Driver's License - essential
