About Us:

Slater Architects is an established, collaborative architecture practice based on the Central Coast, NSW, operating since 1980. We offer a concept to completion service including concept sketch designs, DA documentation and submission, construction documentation, interior selections and documentation and project management of construction.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a talented architect with a focus on interiors to join our team.

This is a remote role with flexibility to be either part-time or full-time, depending on the successful candidate, with the requirement to live on the Central Coast for regular face-to-face meetings with clients and our long-standing team of architects and draftspersons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with clients to discuss interior style, design brief, and scope of works
  • Create mood boards and concept designs aligned with client preferences
  • Prepare initial 1:20 scale drawings for space planning
  • Present concepts and draft layouts for client feedback
  • Conduct client consultations/showroom visits for interior selections
  • Prepare comprehensive finishes and fixtures schedules
  • Deliver detailed 1:20 internal elevations and plans
  • Coordinate with lighting designers for integrated interior lighting plans
  • Facilitate review meetings with clients to finalise all selections
  • Integrate interior design with services layouts
  • Deliver final interior documentation set, ready for tender and construction

Requirements:

  • Architectural qualifications with a strong emphasis on interiors
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in an Australian architectural practice
  • Proficiency in Revit is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Sketchup, Enscape, or similar rendering software is highly desirable
  • Construction knowledge highly desirable
  • A strong interior design portfolio — examples of past work required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must reside on the Central Coast, NSW
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently while collaborating remotely with a supportive team
