Overview

Roads Australia (RA) is the peak body for roads within an integrated transport system, representing more than 120 leading organisations across government, industry, and technology. We bring together stakeholders to shape a high-performing, sustainable, and resilient transport sector.

We're looking for a sharp, strategic thinker to join us as Policy & Government Relations Manager - someone who can craft compelling policy, build trusted relationships, and influence national conversations on transport infrastructure. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy working across government and industry, this is your chance to make a real impact.

What you'll do
  • Lead the development of high-quality policy reports, submissions, and advocacy initiatives
  • Present confidently when leading working groups, roundtables, and cross-sector collaborations with board members and C-suite executives
  • Build strong relationships with government representatives at all levels
  • Translate complex data and insights into clear, persuasive policy
  • Contribute to event planning and communications, ensuring policy alignment
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience in policy development, ideally from a consulting or peak body background
  • Outstanding research and writing skills, with a knack for clarity and influence
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to work efficiently while managing competing priorities
  • Experience in managing highly engaged stakeholders
  • Confidence and professionalism when engaging with board members, ministerial offices, and C-suite executives
  • A background in transport infrastructure, public policy or economics is highly desirable
