Job Description:
Better and fairer care. Always.
St Vincent's has been a leader in Australia's health and aged care landscape for more than 165 years. Since our founders, the Sisters of Charity, opened our first hospital in 1857, our services and nearly 30,000 people have been behind some of Australia's most important medical breakthroughs. We are a microcosm of Australia's health and aged care system and are uniquely positioned to lead and respond to our rapidly changing environment.
We are looking for a special kind of person - a St Vincent's kind of person. Someone who puts excellence, compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.
Are you a visionary product leader passionate about the future of clinical technology? We're seeking a Product Lead – Hospital Care to take ownership of a critical portfolio of clinical information systems across St Vincent's.
In this high-impact role, you will report directly to the Head of Applications and be responsible for managing the technology that underpins safe, high-quality patient care. This is a unique opportunity to lead the strategy and evolution of our Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Patient Administration Systems (PAS), and other essential hospital care applications. You will be a key driver of our digital transformation, ensuring our clinical applications align with the organisation's strategic objectives and directly support our mission of providing exceptional and compassionate care.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in any of our Group Head Offices in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne on a hybrid working arrangement – 3 days a week in office and 2 days working from home. In this role, there will be a requirement to be available outside standard business hours for escalations as needed and may be required to travel interstate on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Develop and maintain a clear product strategy and roadmap for our key clinical systems, ensuring the roadmap reflects evolving clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements, such as accreditation and safety standards
- Oversee the design, configuration, and delivery of new system features, clinical workflows, and decision-support tools that directly enhance the user experience and clinical outcomes for our patients and staff
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Clinical Support Analysts and Technical Support Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability to deliver high-quality system support and enhancements and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure all clinical information systems comply with Australian digital health standards, including interoperability frameworks, privacy regulations, and security requirements
- Cultivate strong relationships with clinical leaders, operational teams, and business product managers to align our technology with the evolving needs of the organisation
- Act as the liaison with external vendors, digital health agencies, and government bodies to align our systems with emerging healthcare trends
- Proven experience leading the delivery and management of critical clinical information systems, including the EMR, PAS, and other hospital applications
- Experience with Meditech EMR or other enterprise-level healthcare systems
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, digital health standards, and hospital accreditation requirements
- Demonstrated experience in managing product roadmaps, including system enhancements, upgrades, and new feature development
- Experience working with business product managers, clinical leaders, and operational teams to ensure system capabilities align with business needs
- Proven ability to manage software vendor relationships and collaborate with external healthcare agencies
- Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in a Health Profession, Clinical Education, Information Technology, Health Informatics, Health Information Management, or a related field
- Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service
- Competitive salary packaging options
- Discounted private health insurance
- Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families
- Access to the Fitness Passport (FP)
