Technology & Cyber Line 1 Risk Specialist

We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of how technology and cyber risks affect the day-to-day running of a modern organisation. This role is part of our Cyber Security team and focuses on supporting the delivery of risk processes that are practical, well-understood and tailored to the environment we work in.

In this role, you'll help strengthen how we identify, assess and manage cyber and technology-related risks across the bank. You'll work closely with colleagues across Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Risk to apply our Risk Management Framework in a way that supports delivery and protects the organisation. Your work will include risk assessments, control testing and guidance across projects and change initiatives. This is a role for someone who is thoughtful, pragmatic and confident in navigating both technical discussions and broader business conversations. This role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis.

Working as part of an inclusive and collaborative team your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the implementation of the Risk Management Framework across cyber and technology areas
• Carrying out control testing, RCSAs and key risk indicator (KRI) reporting to support good decision making
• Reviewing risks associated with new systems, change programs and third-party providers
• Providing advice and insight to technology and business leaders on how to manage operational risk
• Investigating and tracking incidents and supporting lessons learned activities
• Managing risk documentation in the enterprise risk system and contributing to internal reporting
• Helping uplift risk understanding across technology teams by building capability and confidence

• Experience in cyber, technology or operational risk in a medium to large organisation
• A strong grasp of risk principles, frameworks and tools, including familiarity with CPS 234 and CPS 230
• Working knowledge of technology and IT environments and their associated risk (cloud platforms, APIs, infrastructure and SaaS)
• The ability to interpret risk in a business context and communicate clearly with different stakeholders
• Experience conducting risk control assessments, documenting findings and advising on remediation
• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning
