The Opportunity

Shape Australia's Clean Energy Future with Transgrid

We're seeking a Senior Manager, Group Insurance to lead the management of Transgrid's insurance portfolio across both regulated and unregulated businesses. In this role, you'll provide specialist advice, manage key broker and insurer relationships, and support the Head of Enterprise Risk in delivering strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing Transgrid's insurance management plan
  • Leading annual renewals and securing project-specific policies for major construction projects
  • Advising on insurance and contractual terms, risk transfer, and compliance
  • Managing claims and providing guidance following insurable losses
  • Preparing reports for executives and the Board
  • Delivering insurance training across the organisation

This role blends technical expertise, analytical skills, and strategic thinking, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on Australia's clean energy future.

About You

You're a strategic and collaborative insurance professional with:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry experience
  • 3+ years managing corporate insurance programs, ideally in energy or infrastructure
  • Strong skills in broker/insurer management, policy review, and claims handling
  • Experience negotiating insurance clauses in commercial contracts
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Professionalism, resilience, and a strong work ethic
