Base pay range: A$135,402.00/yr - A$152,073.00/yr.

About the Bureau

The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia's weather, climate, water, oceans and space weather agency. Our work impacts all Australians daily. Our services include observations, forecasts, warnings, analysis, and advice across Australia's atmosphere, water, oceans, and space environments.

Role Overview

Within the Bureau's Business Solutions Group (BSG), the National Security and Space Program (NSSP) provides weather, water, climate, ocean, and space weather information to Australia's national security agencies, supporting the Department of Defence and the Australian Defence Force (ADF). NSSP maintains a comprehensive understanding of data and products used by these agencies and the methods through which they receive and utilize Bureau services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deepen customer understanding and translate insights into tailored data-driven solutions and successful project outcomes.
  • Bridge external user needs with internal capabilities, aligning customer goals with organisational and technical requirements to deliver integrated, cost-effective data solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and NSSP leadership to deliver solutions aligned with NSSP operations and strategic goals.
  • Ensure governance, data security, compliance, and performance optimization.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary solutions and oversee integration activities across Bureau areas.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to anticipate and adapt to evolving data and technological needs.
Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrated experience in science and information technology domains, with a project management qualification, is mandatory.

Location & Employment Details

Locations: Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Perth, or Sydney.

This is a full-time ongoing position.
