Overview

The role of a Fixed Interest Assistant is to provide support to the Fixed Interest Team and their dealings with the network and clients. We are seeking a proactive individual who has the desire to grow their career quickly and contribute to building new client relationships and business development. This is a busy and fast paced role that will require strong communication skills, client skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Primary responsibilities
  • Assist with the accurate booking of Wholesale Bond transactions and associated instruments
  • Assist with pricing portfolios
  • Monitor and validate pricing across various platforms and liaise with traders for discrepancies
  • Support resolution of internal and external trade queries across front, middle, and back-office teams
  • Help maintain data integrity across trading systems and reports
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure smooth daily operations and timely settlements
  • Provide general support across the Fixed Income Desk
About you

To succeed in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Degree in Business/ Finance/ Commerce or equivalent
  • Exposure to or interest in OTC Bonds and Cash products
  • Prior experience in financial services or trade operations a plus (but not essential)
  • Kaplan Professional diploma or equivalent course (advantageous)
  • Microsoft application knowledge (Word, Outlook and strong Excel skills)
  • Bloomberg Terminal familiarity
  • Exceptional phone manner, written and communication skills
