The Olympic and Paralympic Games Office (OPGO) is the front door of the Queensland Government on Games matters. We coordinate with Games Delivery Partners on government responsibilities for Brisbane 2032, maintain whole-of-Games oversight of the Games vision and strategic objectives, and protect the State's interests as the primary funder for Brisbane 2032. OPGO works with government, industry and business partners across infrastructure, transport, finance, legal, legacy, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, communications, and program management. We support the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (OCOG) and other State agencies to deliver the Games on time and on budget and to meet legacy outcomes.

The Manager, Accessibility and Inclusion, for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Office, is a critical role that will establish relationships with people with disability, disability leaders and disability peak and representative organisations to guide action on Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games legacy. Reporting directly to the Director, Engagement and Advisory, this role requires a strategic, results-driven individual with a strong understanding of issues and reforms impacting Queenslanders with disability and experience delivering major disability-related programs and projects.

In This Role You Will

  • Lead the establishment and operations of an Accessibility and Inclusion advisory and engagement function to guide action on, monitor and review progress of Brisbane 2032 planning, delivery and legacy outcomes.
  • Work within the Legacy and Impact team to ensure legacy initiatives are designed and delivered with considerations and outcomes for people with disability and support the opportunity of the Games to advance accessibility and empower people with disability.
  • Support the successful implementation of legacy activities that will deliver long-term benefits for the people of Queensland, including facilitation of Games Delivery Partners' and Queensland Government agencies' involvement and coordination of Accessibility and Inclusion initiatives and outcomes; and provide strategic input into targeted and broader stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish and develop effective relationships with people with disability and disability sector representatives, Commonwealth and State government agencies, community groups, councils and other interested bodies and groups; attend regular disability advisory and engagement meetings and events to ensure alignment with national and state disability policies, programs and reforms.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to showcase Accessibility and Inclusion legacy projects and initiatives and proactively engage with stakeholder groups across Queensland, demonstrating the ability to engage productively with complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Support Legacy and Impact program management activities, including preparation of meeting materials, program documentation, governance and assurance, risk and issues management and performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Sport, Racing and the Olympic and Paralympic Games senior leadership to understand the department|s goals and strategy and develop strategies that enable departmental objectives to be achieved.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Director, Executive Director and senior leadership regarding Brisbane 2032 Accessibility and Inclusion legacy-related matters.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours, ensuring a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
