Let's talk about the role:

As a Senior Product Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of innovative hardware products from concept to production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience. Your expertise in design engineering will be crucial in driving our projects to success and exceeding our customers' expectations.

As a Senior Product Design Engineer, you will utilise your product design engineering skills to bring products to market. This includes the following: negotiating and collaborating cross functionally with various departments, such as Customer Experience, Product Management, Manufacturing, Material Engineering, and technology groups to refine and execute the vision for the product; developing technical knowledge in areas outside your realm of expertise to understand other teams' design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems; and collaborating with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimise designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability.

• Utilise Design Thinking to navigate the discovery and delivery process.
• Utilise 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent and inspection requirements ensuring fit, form, and function throughout the life of the product (including tolerance analysis & DFMEA).
• Work closely with a wider team on the design and development of mask hardware products, ensuring seamless integration of form and function.
• Ideate, conduct feasibility studies, create prototypes, and perform rigorous testing to validate design concepts.
• Utilise advanced CAD tools to develop detailed design specifications and technical drawings.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in detailed part and product design engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, NX) preferably experience with complex surfacing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically.
• Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal, ability to clearly communicate design ideas, contribute to brainstorms.
• Experience designing components for high volume manufacturing is preferred - specifically injection molded parts, liquid silicone rubber, cast and machined parts.
