The Team

Broad operational direction and support will be provided by the Area Manager ADS North West and Clinical Governance will be provided by the Statewide Speciality Director.

The Role

The Specialist Medical Practitioner - ADS will:

  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and with key stakeholders to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program.
  • Be expected to exercise a significant level of independent clinical judgement in completing the primary tasks.
  • Be expected to act with integrity and in an ethically honourable manner.
Selection Criteria and Responsibilities

Details of appointment

Permanent part time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.

Salary and Benefits
  • Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3: $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging. Access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to meeting criteria in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
  • Salary packaging options include benefits such as living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment per year.
  • Motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata.
  • Participation in Private Practice Scheme 35% or allowance in lieu of private practice schemes 35%.
  • North West Retention Allowance 20% pro rata per annum.
  • Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 per annum, pro rata.
  • Professional development and accelerated pathways.
  • Leave entitlements including study leave and Professional Development Support.
  • Fitness Passport access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for a small weekly fee (per person/family).
  • Other allowances as applicable.
Eligibility

Eligible applicants will be required to meet essential criteria, including Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty. Registration/licences must remain current and valid at all times; the status may be checked during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to maintain current registration/licence and to notify the Employer of changes.
