Senior In-House Legal Counsel

Location

Perth CBD, Western Australia

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice and support to executive leadership, project teams, and functional departments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including EPC, subcontractor agreements, joint ventures, supply chain agreements, and international service contracts.
  • Advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies across global jurisdictions, with a strong focus on commercial, corporate, employment, and construction law.
  • Support international operations with cross-border legal advice, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Manage and coordinate external legal counsel when required, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and cost efficiency.
  • Keep the business informed of relevant legal developments and contribute to legal training and awareness initiatives.
  • Play a proactive role in contract lifecycle management and internal governance processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and frameworks to support business growth and risk management.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified legal practitioner with a current practising certificate (WA or eligible to obtain).
  • Minimum 8+ years of post-admission experience, ideally gained within a top-tier law firm and/or in-house in a similar complex, international business environment.
  • Strong experience in commercial and corporate law; exposure to construction law and international contracting highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate diverse jurisdictions and manage cross-border legal issues.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
