Our client is seeking a Senior Communications and Content Officer to join their Strategic Engagement and Community Education team in Brisbane. This is a 4-month contract, with the possibility of extension, offering a fantastic opportunity for a skilled communications professional to make a significant impact. * Opportunity to deliver critical internal and CEO communications. * Manage vital social media channels. * Work within a legal, government, or professional services communications environment.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Communications and Content Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's messaging both internally and externally. You will leverage your strong digital and traditional content development abilities to create engaging and clear communications. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing internal communications plans (including business and project communications), crafting communications for the CEO, and strategically managing social media channels. Your ability to simplify complex concepts into plain language will be essential, ensuring messages build trust, clarity, and engagement with a diverse audience. You will also manage and produce high-quality content for various channels, including newsletters, reports, and speeches, and utilise platforms like SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.

• Deliver internal communications, including business and project communication plans.
• Manage CEO communications.
• Oversee social media channels.
• Develop and simplify complex concepts for community audiences using appropriate tone and language.
• Manage and produce high-quality content for internal and external channels (e.g., newsletters, reports, speeches, digital platforms).

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for this Senior Communications and Content Officer role will bring demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and project management. You will possess essential skills in plain language writing, with the ability to understand and simplify complex concepts for a community audience, building trust and clarity through your tone and language. Your content development and editing skills will be strong, with keen attention to detail, editorial accuracy, and the ability to write and edit for grammar, structure, accessibility, and readability. Experience managing end-to-end content and communications projects, along with strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and competing deadlines, are crucial. Previous experience writing for government, legal, or financial organisations, a background in journalism, communications, public relations, or legal writing, and familiarity with content approval workflows and regulatory frameworks are preferred.
