Kyogle Council is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of Assets & Infrastructure Services to join our Executive Leadership Team. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead one of the most impactful directorates within Council, overseeing critical services that keep our community connected, safe, and thriving.

As Director, you will provide strategic leadership and innovation across civil works, water and sewerage, asset management, roads, bridges, facilities, stormwater, and emergency management. Working closely with the General Manager, Mayor, Councillors, and senior leadership, you will guide the delivery of major infrastructure programs and champion the development of sustainable services that directly improve the lives of residents.

Position Overview

In this executive leadership role, you will:

  • Provide high-level advice to the General Manager, Mayor, and Councillors on infrastructure and asset management matters
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality civil works, maintenance, and capital projects
  • Oversee strategic planning, financial management, and contract administration within the Directorate
  • Foster strong community and stakeholder relationships, ensuring transparency, safety, and collaboration
  • Drive continuous improvement, compliance, and innovation across infrastructure and service delivery
About you

To succeed, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field, with significant leadership experience
  • Extensive expertise in civil engineering, including water, sewerage, roads, and asset management
  • Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets, capital works programs, and complex projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a record of building positive partnerships
  • A leadership style that inspires excellence, collaboration, and accountability
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and the values of local government service
  • Experience in local government, state public sector, emergency management, quarry operations, project management, GIS, or postgraduate qualifications in engineering/management.
