    What you will do as the Principal Lawyer in the Competition and Consumer Law Unit (CCLU):
    • Conduct legal and related research into complex matters relevant to ACCC responsibilities under relevant legislation.
    • Assist with the conduct of investigations, manage Court and Tribunal proceedings involving the ACCC, and provide assistance to the ACCC in the performance of the ACCC's compliance and enforcement functions.
    • Provide legal input for ACCC determinations, publications and information programs.
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships at all levels within the ACCC to assist the Legal Group to provide responsive client service.
    • Assist the Managing Principal Lawyers and Deputy General Counsel, CCLU as required.

    About You

    In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
    • Admission as a practitioner, however described, of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, or the ability to become so admitted before commencing in the role.
    • Substantial legal or enforcement experience at a senior practitioner level relevant to the competition or consumer law enforcement functions of the ACCC.

    Principal Lawyers will typically have at least 10 years advising in relevant areas of law or equivalent.

    All candidates are expected to meet the APS Integrated Leadership Profile (ILS) for the classification advertised.

    Salary: Lawyer 2 (EL2) $162,619 - $172,365 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
