Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Production Manager to join our team at the IG Machine & Fibers Ltd. plant in Ashcroft, BC. This role will involve driving synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance, while ensuring operational goals are met in safety, environmental, quality, cost, and productivity areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and coaching to production supervisors and employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost, and service goals and objectives.
- Partner with Quality Control Coordinator to ensure finished products meet customer requirements through continuous improvement and utilization of the plant quality management system.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost.
- Lead the overall reliability strategy, involving production employees in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
- Maintain a highly engaged workforce, partnering with HR on performance management, employee involvement, organizational change, staffing, and employee development.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing concepts, such as Kaizen events, working directly with production and maintenance teams.
- Ensure effective employee training and mentoring immediate direct reports to establish an effective team accountable for achieving performance goals.
- Implement and maintain a 5S program to sustain improvements and ensure plant housekeeping meets company standards.
- Technical four-year degree
- Minimum 5-10 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills
- Demonstrated team building talent and hands-on problem solving skills
- Ability to achieve results individually and as a member of a team
