We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer who will hold a senior technical position and be part of the Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies group. You will oversee the development, improvement and optimization of manufacturing processes, plant and equipment. This position manages a team to deliver both continual improvements as well as an exciting capital works program.

This is a full-time position with a competitive remuneration package including base salary + superannuation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste. This includes business case, design and implementation of mechanical improvements to existing and new plant and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Manage, train and mentor junior engineers and drafting technicians to ensure deliverables are achieved in accordance with business priorities
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
  • Provide technical leadership and support to production teams on development of processes and systems
  • Project Management of the delivery of projects ranging from minor mechanical/ electrical improvements to large scale procurement and commissioning
  • Oversee delivery of capital works program

About You

To be successful in this role you need:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes, equipment and tools
  • Proven experience in problem solving and data analytics
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and projects
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar other engineering tools

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering
