As our next Heavy Leading Hand Diesel Fitter, you will join the Maintenance Team and take on a range of maintenance activities at the Yilgarn Mine. The Yilgarn Iron Ore Project includes the Koolyanobbing, Windarling and Parker Range sites. The region is located in the Shires of Yilgarn and Menzies with ore railed to Esperance Port for export.

Located in the Shire of Yilgarn, Western Australia, 54 km north-northeast of Southern Cross, on a 14/7 FIFO roster.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership of a skilled mobile maintenance team following managers and supervisors' directives
  • Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation
  • Source technical information from reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems
  • Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel
  • Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure
  • Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until deficiencies are corrected
About You / Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent
  • At least 5 years' mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters
  • Positive leadership style with exceptional time-management skills and the ability to pivot around priorities while guiding and supervising the maintenance team
  • Experience in planning servicing, repair and preventative maintenance of heavy mobile mining equipment
  • Commitment to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to ensure required paperwork is completed to a high standard by tradespeople
  • Proactive approach to delivering quality work
  • High Risk Work Licences – WP, LF and Rigging (advantageous)
