Who You Are

• A strong backend engineer (mid to senior level) with a startup or high-growth background.
• Passionate about building AI systems that are both smart and robust.
• Comfortable balancing clean code with pragmatic problem-solving.

Technical Responsibilities

• Build and maintain intelligent AI agents using Python, LangGraph, RAG pipelines, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Design and optimise Postgres database schemas, queries, and performance for production workloads.
• Develop robust APIs and maintain backend infrastructure with security, reliability, and scale in mind.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
• Deploy and manage applications across cloud platforms including Render and Vercel.
• Work with vector databases and semantic search systems to power intelligent agent capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO and broader product team to deliver high-impact features that solve real customer problems.

Team & Delivery Responsibilities

• Participate in architecture design, sprint planning, and code reviews.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate - from Monday brainstorm to Thursday demo.
• Help maintain a culture of quality, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Must-Haves

• Strong Python skills - built and maintained backend systems or APIs and write clean, efficient code.
• Intermediate-level Postgres experience - database design, complex queries, indexing, and performance optimisation.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices - automated pipelines, testing workflows, and deployment processes using GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on deployment experience with modern platforms like Render, Vercel, or similar PaaS solutions.
• Experience working with production-grade AI or strong interest in building agents using LLMs (LangChain/LangGraph, RAG, vector stores, etc.).
• Problem-solving mindset - comfortable diving deep to debug, learn fast, and figure things out.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills - thrive in a team setting.
• Solid foundational knowledge in computer science (degree or equivalent experience).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with front-end frameworks like React or Next.js.
• Knowledge of vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma for semantic search and RAG implementations.
• Advanced experience with cloud-native architectures
• Infrastructure as Code experience (GitHub Actions).
• Personal or open-source AI/LLM projects - show us what you've built
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools in production environments.
• Some knowledge, interest or experience with Australian, residential real estate

In the First 3 Months, You Will

• Dive deep into our architecture, platform, and agents.
• Ship features that improve our product and deliver real customer value.
• Help optimise our database performance and deployment processes.
• Contribute to our CI/CD pipeline improvements and infrastructure reliability.
• Help launch our next generation of agents across sales, property management, and operations.
• Influence technical decisions and help evolve our systems as we grow.
