Client - Department of Employment and Workplace Relations

Rate & term - $130 per hour including Super | 12 month initial contract | 12 month extension option

Location & work arrangements - Can be located in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC | ~2-3 days in office

Security Clearance - Must be an Australian Citizen | Baseline Clearance preferred refer (https://www.agsva.gov.au/about/security-clearance-definitions)

Overview:

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations supports people to have safe, secure and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future.

Within the department, the Digital Solutions Division contributes delivering a wide range of digital programs and initiatives that support better digital experiences and improved outcomes for the department and its customers.

The Senior test automation engineer will support Automated testers across the branch to undertake quality assurance of new or improved enterprise-class IT systems.

In a predominantly Microsoft and Azure hybrid cloud technology environment, you will participate in agile ceremonies, and you will do a range of software development tasks as they relate to automated testing. You may work closely with Software Developers, Software Testers, Scrum Masters, System and Business Analysts, and Delivery Managers.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Maintain a Playwright test automation framework used by automation testers to script and execute automated software tests
• Support teams and resolve issues relating to the test automation framework
• Follow best practice coding techniques and patterns when developing the test automation framework
• Maintaining the test automation framework
• Enhance framework capabilities to increase test coverage of functional and nonfunctional requirements
• Provide input and work collaboratively with other DSD stakeholders to help deliver departmental deliverables Liaise with Scrum Masters, Developers, Manual testers, and Test automation engineers

Technical skills

• Playwright
• K6
• Extensive experience supporting Playwright test Automation frameworks in large complex environments that utilise Agile iterative development.
• Extensive experience supporting the development of API and Web Automated tests using playwright and Azure DevOps CI/CD
• Demonstrated experience using coding patterns and principles such as SOLID, Page Object Model, SINGLETON and Page Factory.
• Strong personal qualities including well-developed communication skills, an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, sound prioritisation, time management and organisational skills
• Experience mentoring staff to modernise and strengthen quality assurance processes
• Understanding the business context of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
