Key duties and responsibilities:

We are seeking Automation Testers who will be responsible for creating and overseeing test plans and strategies, including those using Azure DevOps. The role involves writing, reviewing, and executing test cases for web-based applications, effectively prioritising testing efforts and managing test case execution. Testers will work within multi-disciplinary project teams to analyse documented specifications, user stories, and requirements to generate test cases and test plans. Additionally, they will raise defects, log, and track faults using departmental tools like Azure DevOps. Testers will also provide advice and contribute to testing strategies while supporting the implementation of automation testing practices. They will ensure digital solutions comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and engage with business stakeholders throughout the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process. The role requires active participation in both agile and traditional delivery methods as part of a multidisciplinary team, and the flexibility to undertake other duties as needed.

Requirements

Response must be as a one-page pitch addressing the essential criteria:

  • Proven experience or expertise in automated testing, with strong software testing abilities and a track record in application/system tester roles.
  • Proficiency in creating test artefacts, such as writing, reviewing, and executing detailed test plans and cases, as well as developing test strategies.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team, including Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Application Developers, Web Developers, and Subject Matter Experts, while working in a fast-paced, agile environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing digital solutions for conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), with current accessibility training being highly beneficial.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing test plans/cases for custom applications, including the Azure and Microsoft suite of products and services.
  • Experience tracking and managing test plans and test cases through Azure DevOps.
  • Experience guiding User Acceptance Testing activities.
