THE ROLE

As a Senior Data Analyst within the Data and Analytics team you will bring your technical expertise and demonstrated competency in data analytics and reporting to family violence and the service system.

You will work closely with data custodians within Family Safety Victoria and undertake consultation with counterparts across the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) to produce high quality and robust reports. You will bring familiarity with data collection and reporting processes, and confidence that you are quickly able to become familiar and navigate data collected through a range of social services administrative systems including The Orange Door Client Relationship Management System.

As an integral part of a small team you will bring your ideas and contribute to the refinement, ongoing development and implementation of innovative approaches to the presentation of data and analysis that will support policy, service delivery, senior management and key stakeholders in their understanding of demand for services, including The Orange Door and its core services. The information and reports you produce will be provided to all levels of DFFH and will also be used as input into other reporting processes such as budget, annual reporting and parliamentary updates.

You will also undertake analytics deep dive projects to explore family violence service delivery data in greater detail, identifying patterns and developing insights to help inform operational and strategic policy decision-making, including in the area of service improvement, performance and outcomes measurement. This may involve the application of advanced analytics techniques, including the use of the Victorian Government's linked data repository.

Accountabilities Include

Lead analytics required to ensure that the Orange Door service delivery reporting is delivered in a timely and high quality manner to governance groups at both statewide and local levels.
Lead data analysis and reporting and provide specialist service delivery reporting and performance measurement advice to inform policies, projects or initiatives and to enable effective decision making and achievement of outcomes.
Undertake complex statistical and analytic projects to monitor the department progress against key outcomes, including navigating existing and new service delivery CRMs and databases, and analysis of data using standard tools (e.g. Power BI, SQL, MDX, Excel, SAS or RStudio) and linked data.
