Overview

Lead Security Engineer/Architect (SOC/SIEM), 12+ month contract, Sydney, NSW, Australia. The role is a trusted advisor and project lead for SOC/SIEM deployment and migration projects, requiring deep consulting and leadership skills with a strong background in SOC and SIEM technologies and 10+ years of hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead customer engagements as the XSIAM/Cortex technical lead, guiding SOC/SIEM deployment and migration projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of security consultants and engineers to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing expert advice and strategic guidance.
  • Collaborate and coordinate across cross-functional teams, including Sales, SE, PM, Customer Success, and Support.
  • Oversee and mentor the project team, ensuring delivery of quick wins and long-term success.
  • Develop and refine use cases, correlation rules, and onboarding strategies, with intermediate technical skills (Python, automation, parsing).
  • Drive team performance, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development.
  • Continuously learn and adapt as new challenges and technologies arise during the project lifecycle.
Experience & Skills
  • 10+ years of SOC/SIEM experience, with proven deployment and migration project leadership.
  • Strong consulting and advisory background, comfortable leading customer engagements.
  • Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing technical teams.
  • Experience building correlation rules and onboarding data sources using parsing/regex rules.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
