The Personnel Security Specialist, AWS Security role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a critical position in our cloud infrastructure.
Job OverviewAmazon Web Services (AWS) operates at a massive scale, providing secure virtualized infrastructure, storage, and networking services globally to various clients, including startups, enterprises, and government agencies.
The AWS Personnel Security team manages security clearance and vetting activities for AWS employees supporting multiple programs, focusing on ongoing suitability assessments. As a Personnel Security Analyst, you will collaborate with industry-leading security experts to enhance personnel security programs and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process and review personnel security clearances, ensuring compliance with government regulations and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of personnel security programs, aligning with internal policies and external standards.
- Generate and report security metrics and activities to inform strategic decisions.
- Monitor and optimize security processes for efficiency and quality, identifying areas for improvement.
- Engage with AWS stakeholders and government customers to facilitate clearance activities and address security-related inquiries.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in high-security environments or programs.
- Background as an analyst or similar role in government or commercial sectors.
- Proficiency with government security frameworks and standards, such as PSPF, ISM, DSPF, and ASD Essential Eight.
- Preferred qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Cyber Security, IT Security Management, or related fields; Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting).
This role requires holding or obtaining an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance. The position involves processing security clearances, supporting security activities, creating reports, and conducting security briefings and training sessions.
