About Our Client: Our client is a dynamic and fast-paced FMCG business based in Brisbane, with a strong passion for delivering high-quality products to their customers. With a collaborative and engaged culture, they pride themselves on their established supplier relationships and their continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence.
They are now looking for a hands-on Procurement Manager to join their team and manage a complex spend portfolio across a diverse range of suppliers, both locally and globally. This role will involve managing and further developing key supplier relationships, as well as exploring new sourcing solutions to enhance the supply chain and ensure smooth product delivery.

The Role: As Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing procurement activities across a variety of critical categories. You will manage direct spend and business-critical purchasing, working closely with both internal teams and a broad range of suppliers to ensure the business receives the best value, quality, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing suppliers while actively identifying new sourcing opportunities to enhance procurement strategies.
• Spend Management: Oversee complex spend across multiple categories, including critical and direct spend, ensuring maximum cost efficiency and value for the business.
• Hands-On Role: This is a highly engaged, tactical role that requires active involvement in day-to-day procurement operations, from sourcing to negotiating contracts and managing supply chain risks.
• Strategic Development: Work closely with leadership to develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives that drive efficiencies and improve supply chain performance.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a small team, ensuring the development and growth of your direct report while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

About You: You are a driven and solution-oriented professional with significant experience in procurement and supplier management. You have a strong background in managing complex spend and working with suppliers from across the globe. Experience in manufacturing and managing business-critical/direct spend categories would be highly regarded.
You are a natural collaborator, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and inspire positive change within the business. Your strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities will ensure you excel in this role.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in procurement management within FMCG or similar industries.
• Experience managing complex spend and working with a broad array of global suppliers.
• Strong understanding of business-critical/direct spend categories, ideally with a manufacturing background.
• Highly developed negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Hands-on, practical approach to procurement and supply chain management.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Previous experience in managing or mentoring a small team is advantageous.
