Design Matters National is Australia's leading peak body for building designers, architects, and design professionals. We advocate for industry excellence, provide professional development, and shape policy across the built environment sector. Through events, education, and member services, we support over 2000 members to advance their practice and maintain the highest standards in building design.

Role overview:

Lead our national events program, driving member engagement through innovative event experiences while managing stakeholder relationships and concurrent projects.

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage annual events calendar, including National Building Design Awards and CPD events
  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery, from planning to evaluation
  • Implement digital marketing campaigns to boost event participation
  • Build and maintain supplier and stakeholder relationships
  • Manage CRM database and reporting
  • Control event budgets and ROI tracking

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven national events management experience
  • Digital marketing capability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • B2B sector experience
  • Virtual event platform knowledge
  • Experience in peak body or industry association

We're seeking a mature professional who builds strong relationships, thinks strategically, and delivers high-quality events while juggling multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding team player with proven collaborative skills, able to work effectively across teams and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
