About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Paid Ads Specialist with proven experience in Google Ads and Meta Ads. This role is ideal for a mid to senior-level digital marketer who enjoys taking ownership of campaigns, optimising performance, and providing strategic input to grow a national service-based brand.

Day-to-day, you'll manage campaigns, run audits, prepare reports, conduct testing, and implement ongoing optimisations. You'll also contribute creative direction and campaign briefs to ensure our messaging connects with the right audiences. From time to time, you may also work across other paid media channels. This position is based at our Cleveland HQ.

Key Skills & Experience

Google Ads

  • Campaign structure build-out (Search, Performance Max, Display, Remarketing).
  • Strong understanding of Performance Max is favourable (but not essential).
  • Essential: Negative keyword management to eliminate wasted spend.
  • Ad copywriting skills that highlight USPs (flexible hours, vetted cleaners, national support, etc.). (Yes, ChatGPT can help — but strong written English is preferred)
  • Geographic targeting & bid adjustments across states/regions.
  • Tracking & setup (calls, form fills, bookings) – favourable but not essential.
  • Ability to identify organic keyword opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Skilled at spotting trends in campaign data.

Meta Ads

  • Strong ability to research, build, and manage audiences (lookalikes, remarketing, custom audiences).
  • Process-driven approach to audience testing – you'll be asked about this in interview.
  • Creative direction for ad visuals (before/after cleaning images, day-in-the-life campaigns) and/or ability to brief third-party designers.
  • Knowledge of campaign structures (lead gen, awareness, remarketing, split tests).
  • Ability to manage ad frequency and prevent audience fatigue.
  • Strong understanding of lead quality and how to optimise for it.

Other Notes

  • From time to time, you may also contribute to SEO projects, media buying on other platforms, or liaising with external suppliers.
  • There is an opportunity to earn team-based bonuses (explained at interview).
Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and manage Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns.
  • Provide strategic campaign briefs and creative direction to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Optimise campaigns to improve ROI, reduce wasted spend, and drive qualified leads.
  • Track, measure, and report on KPIs weekly (lead volume, cost per lead, conversion rates, ROAS).
  • Develop testing roadmaps as required (A/B tests for copy, creatives, audiences).
  • Collaborate with management on new paid media opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with platform updates, competitor activity, and industry trends. (We can also provide additional learning resources as required)
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring campaigns are paced and aligned with allocations.
  • Provide recommendations to improve lead quality and conversion outcomes.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with past experience in running paid ads for national campaigns, particularly for service-based businesses.

It is ideal if you have at least 3-5 years or more experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns.

We will request to see a track record of driving leads and to understand how you went about improving ROI.

Great communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. The ideal candidate should also be organized and proactive.
