Overview

Treasury Trader role at Convera in Sydney. The Treasury Trader (aka Senior Treasury Analyst) assists with the management of the Company's day-to-day currency positions arising from its money transfer and business payments products.

Responsibilities
  • Managing Convera's FX risk by hedging client trade activity with our foreign exchange bank counterparties within prescribed interest rate and currency risk limits.
  • Quoting FX prices across multiple products, and structuring option contracts for the Sales team.
  • Completing operational functions including FX option, spot, swap, and forward deal execution; entering trade data into the Treasury risk management system; exotic currency booking and return processing.
  • Managing daily and ad hoc reporting activities.
  • This is a hybrid role, split between our modern Sydney CBD office (with water and city views) and working from home.
  • Variable working hours are sometimes required to meet trading market availability.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and foreign exchange instruments, including FX forwards, and an understanding of complex option strategies.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with diverse currency exposures, requiring flawless execution, attention to detail, precise communication, and aptitude for operational processes.
  • Strong analytical skillset, with interest or experience in data management and entry-level coding.
  • Programming knowledge would be an advantage - VBA, Python, SQL.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Aptitude to formulate suggestions to address complicated financial risk scenarios.
  • Strong financial modeling, Excel, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related subject is preferred but not essential; further education (e.g., MBA) is also considered.
