About the company
Located in Melbourne's North-West suburbs, our client is a well-known organisation that is currently looking for an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment where ongoing development is highly encouraged.
The Opportunity
As the Transport Operations Supervisor, some of the responsibilities required to perform, but not limited to, are:
- Daily management of the business to achieve planned/budgeted KPIs, cost outcomes, safety measures, and service levels.
- Performing quality checks on materials/stock and identifying and reporting damages, shortages, or quality deficiencies.
- Fostering and enhancing a culture that takes pride in its performance, delivery, and work environment and seeks to continually improve.
- Working alongside truck drivers and operations support areas to ensure the operation of the shift runs according to plan.
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal & external customers to ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Ensuring a high level of compliance with OH&S requirements and enhancing an organised and clean working environment.
- Keeping updated records of inventory and activity logs.
- Ensuring the efficient, safe, and secure loading, unloading, movement, and packing of merchandise/materials/stock.
To be considered for this role you must possess the following:
- A minimum of three years experience in a similar position.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses a problem-solving mentality and analytical nature.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions promptly.
- A team player who sees the value in supporting all parts of the business.
- Knowledge & experience with CoR regulations and compliance relating to the transport industry.
- Must have knowledge of FMCG transport operations.
- A high level of motivation and energy with a strong focus on achieving outstanding customer experience results.
- Competence with Microsoft programs.
- Background in express and general freight preferable.
