About The Opportunity
As General Counsel you will be a trusted partner to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer and lead legal services across our business and legal entities. You will provide expert counsel on all matters of business encompassing legal, commercial, operational, corporate governance, statutory and regulatory compliance, risk management, dispute resolution and workplace relations. You will work closely with the Executive and relevant stakeholders on legal strategy, lead complex legal matters and enabling adviser for commercially minded decision-making.
About You
Ideally, your skills and experience should include:
- Minimum of 10+ years' experience gained in a commercial/corporate environment
- Australian law degree and a current practicing certificate
- An exceptional generalist toolkit with proven expertise in commercial law, legal compliance and governance and workplace relations
- Proven record of leading and navigating complex legal matters
- Commercially savvy with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills including negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Experienced partnering with the executive and senior leadership and professionally representing the company externally (including court, arbitrations, administrative proceedings etc)
- Excellent written communication skills including preparation and execution of legal and commercial documents, contracts, submissions and agreements for internal and external stakeholders and audiences
